Meet Hugh MacArthur

Hugh MacArthur is the Chairman of Bain & Company’s Global Private Equity Practice, which he helped establish over 25 years ago. He collaborates with a diverse array of private equity funds and alternative asset managers, including traditional buyout firms, hedge funds, infrastructure and real estate funds, distressed debt funds, sovereign wealth funds, venture capital firms, and banks.

With extensive experience advising funds across the US, Europe, Middle East, Latin America, Asia, and Africa, Hugh has worked on hundreds of assignments encompassing deals, strategy, and operations. He is a prolific author on private equity value creation and industry trends, sharing his insights in global publications and through his weekly LinkedIn blog, "Private Thoughts from My Desk."

Hugh also hosts Bain & Company’s "Dry Powder: The Private Equity Podcast," where he interviews leading experts about trends and opportunities shaping the private equity industry. His thought leadership and extensive industry experience make him a highly respected figure in the field.
